If you are looking to modify/add a lot of characters to the game then I would suggest using a tool which you can also find on the link above. It will be wise to create a copy of the "Native" folder just in-case you slip up and have to re-download the game. You will not need any unofficial tools for this guide, all you will need are the files stated above. But as for this guide I will only be showing you a few of the basics. If you are looking for a more in depth modding guide then you can maybe look for a guide on the Taleworlds Forums. This is not a complete and thorough examination of the whole text, it mostly focuses on the basics. You will have to have each of these files: troops.txt, parties.txt, scenes.txt and also the folder SceneObj, which you can easily get from the native folder.
We will go through how to make scenes and edit troops. This is a simple guide to editing/adjusting your gameplay through the Native.
